IDEA DRILLING’S MAX MOTLEY TO SPEAK AT SME-NORTHERN NEVADA SECTION
Max Motley, Manager of Safety/Health/Environment at IDEA Drilling, has accepted an invitation to speak at the SME- Northern Nevada Section meeting on October 9th. Max will be speaking on the power and importance of, “Near Miss Reporting Programs in Today’s Industry.” SME stands for Society of Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration. SME is a professional society whose more than 15,000 members represent all professionals serving in the minerals industry, in more than 100 countries. Members include engineers, geologists, metallurgists, educators, students and researchers. SME advances the worldwide mining and underground construction community through information exchange and professional development. SME-Northern Nevada Section is proud to present technical sessions hosted by some of the leading industry innovators around the world.
Max is responsible for the design, monitoring, tracking, and reporting for all of IDEA Drilling’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Systems. He has been instrumental in helping IDEA Drilling strengthen their safety systems, programs, customized training, and hiring processes.
Max holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety from the University of Minnesota-Duluth; and is a Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA) Certified Trainer. He also holds the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
